The Journey
The 15km walk known as the Gachchami Parikrama covers Lord Buddha’s life from the time he entered Pawanagar to reach Kushinagar for salvation. The path is highly significant for Buddha’s devotees including foreigners.
The Development
Due to the historical importance of river Kukuttha in Kushinagar, the government has decided to refurbish the bank used for Parikrama. The development works include the beautification of river, illumination of streets and overall development of the site for better tourist experience. Post the development, the followers of Lord Buddha will get a chance to enter the heritage trail and experience the chronicle of Buddha’s journey .
